Barcelona responded after the break, with Xavi Espart drawing the visitors level in the 55th minute. PSG regained the advantage in the 72nd minute when Lucas Hernández rose to head home from a corner.
The contest remained finely balanced as Lamine Yamal equalised for Barcelona in the 79th minute, bringing the Spanish side back into the game for a second time.
PSG, however, quickly restored their lead. Vitinha struck in the 81st minute to make it 3-2 before Fabián Ruiz completed the scoring in the 86th minute, sealing an important home win for the reigning European champions.
The result extended PSG’s winning run in the league phase to three matches, following earlier victories over Slovan Bratislava and Manchester City. The Parisians moved to nine points, while Barcelona suffered their first defeat of the campaign and remained on six points after winning their opening two fixtures.
The match also featured an injury concern for PSG, with Ousmane Dembélé leaving the field before the final whistle. Barcelona’s Dani Olmo was also reported to have been affected by an injury during the contest.
Despite twice fighting back to level the score, Barcelona were unable to contain PSG’s late attacking pressure. The French side’s ability to respond immediately after Yamal’s equaliser proved decisive in a match that produced six goals.
PSG will look to maintain their momentum when the Champions League league phase resumes in November, while Barcelona will aim to recover from the setback and strengthen their position in the competition.
