In a statement issued on Monday, the board confirmed that CAPS is now fully operational and called on tertiary institutions to intensify their admission activities in order to make up for the time lost during the disruption.

JAMB urged institutions to work within the approved admission timetable and ensure that eligible candidates are processed without unnecessary delays.

With CAPS restored, the board also advised candidates who receive admission offers to promptly accept them so that institutions can proceed with the necessary admission procedures.

JAMB Announces Admission Deadlines

According to JAMB, the deadline for the 2026/2027 admission exercise in public universities is October 31, 2026.

Private universities have been given until November 30, 2026, while other tertiary institutions are expected to conclude their admission processes by December 31, 2026.

The board urged institutions to take full advantage of the restored CAPS platform and accelerate their activities to meet the respective deadlines.

Candidates Asked to Upload and Verify NECO Results

JAMB also called on candidates who previously indicated that they were awaiting their results to upload or verify their credentials following the release of the 2026 National Examinations Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination results.

The board said the update is important because institutions are expected to intensify their admission processes now that CAPS has been restored.

Candidates affected by the previous awaiting-result status were therefore encouraged to complete the necessary steps as soon as possible to ensure their academic credentials are available for consideration.

JAMB Appeals for Patience

The examination and admission body expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the temporary CAPS disruption and thanked candidates, institutions and other stakeholders for their patience and understanding.

JAMB said the restoration of CAPS should allow the 2026/2027 admission exercise to continue within the approved timelines.

The board consequently encouraged all stakeholders to proceed with the admission process and ensure compliance with the various deadlines.

The restoration is expected to provide institutions with the platform needed to process admissions while giving candidates an opportunity to complete outstanding requirements ahead of the conclusion of the admission exercise.
