A stakeholder of the CityBoy Movement in Ado-Odo Constituency II, Solomon Olarewaju, has praised the group’s grassroots activities in Ogun State as preparations intensify for the 2027 elections.
Olarewaju, who is also a Special Assistant to the Ogun State Governor, said the movement had continued to take the message of the Tinubu administration to communities across the state through various programmes and mobilisation efforts.
He said the group’s activities were aimed at strengthening grassroots participation and building support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections.
CityBoy Movement Pushes Grassroots Mobilisation
According to Olarewaju, the growing presence of the CityBoy Movement at the community level would provide more opportunities for youths and other stakeholders to participate in political engagement.
He commended the leadership and members of the group for what he described as sustained mobilisation across Ogun State.
Olarewaju also reiterated the movement’s commitment to a target of more than two million votes for President Tinubu in Ogun State during the 2027 presidential election.
The two-million-vote target was earlier announced by Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as YAYI, during the inauguration of the Ogun chapter of the CityBoy Movement. Reports from the event said Adeola based the target on Ogun’s large registered-voter population.
Olarewaju Backs YAYI’s Governorship Bid
Olarewaju also expressed support for Adeola’s governorship campaign in Ogun State.
Adeola, who represents Ogun West in the Senate, is the APC’s recognised candidate for the 2027 Ogun governorship election. The Ogun APC reaffirmed his candidacy in August following an internal dispute over the party’s nomination process.
The senator has since unveiled a nine-point development agenda for the state known as ITESIWAJU for Ogun State.
The agenda covers areas including infrastructure, tourism and culture, economic empowerment, security and welfare, youth and women development, agriculture, job creation, industrialisation, urbanisation and transparency.
Olarewaju described the ITESIWAJU agenda as a framework focused on continuity and development, while particularly highlighting its emphasis on youth participation.
Youth Participation Takes Centre Stage
The CityBoy Movement stakeholder said young people should remain actively involved in political mobilisation and governance.
He maintained that YAYI’s engagement with youths was an area that should be sustained as the 2027 election approaches.
Olarewaju, who is also the convener of the OSA Movement, said the group would continue working at the grassroots and encouraging voter participation.
He called on members and supporters of the CityBoy Movement across Ogun to maintain peaceful political engagement as campaigns and preparations for the elections gather momentum.
The development comes as political parties and support groups across Ogun State step up their activities ahead of the 2027 governorship and presidential contests.
