The Nigerian rapper draws on his Christian faith to explain his views on marriage, praises the importance of women in relationships and rejects the perception that he is a misogynist.
Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has stirred conversations with his views on love, marriage and the responsibilities of men in relationships, saying a man should be willing to make significant sacrifices for the woman he loves.
The rapper shared his perspective during an appearance on the In Motion Podcast, where he discussed his Christian beliefs and explained how they influence his understanding of commitment to a partner.
Odumodublvck argued that men who are unwilling to make sacrifices for their women do not understand the depth of love and commitment expected in marriage. He based his position on the biblical teaching that husbands should love their wives in the same way Christ loves the Church.
Using the sacrifice of Jesus Christ as an example, the rapper explained that his Christian faith shapes the way he views marital responsibility.
He also spoke about his expectations concerning the future of his family, saying he believes he would likely die before his wife because she is younger than him. He added that he would want her to take responsibility for their children and manage the family's affairs if he were no longer around.
According to him, his wife would also be in a position to distribute his assets among their children and ensure that the work he had started continued.
The rapper further discussed how his mother's generosity influenced his own attitude towards giving and managing money. He described her as someone who readily helped others and said the example had shaped his approach to sharing what he has with people around him.
He admitted that he sometimes finds it difficult to keep money for himself because he is naturally inclined to give to others. He suggested that his partner could help manage his finances.
Odumodublvck also used chess to explain the importance he attaches to women, comparing the role of a woman in a relationship to the queen, which he described as the strongest piece on the board.
Beyond his views on marriage, the rapper addressed the perception that he is a misogynist, describing the label as unfair and saying it bothers him.
He questioned how people could associate him with hatred or prejudice against women when, in his view, his comments about commitment and sacrifice demonstrate how highly he regards his female partner.
The interview also touched on the ongoing public disagreement between Odumodublvck and fellow Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez. Their relationship, which previously involved friendship and musical collaborations, has deteriorated into a public dispute involving social media exchanges and legal developments.
The disagreement has attracted considerable attention within the Nigerian music industry, although Odumodublvck's comments about relationships during the podcast represent his personal views rather than a resolution of the dispute.
His latest remarks have added another dimension to conversations about his public image, particularly his views on women, marriage and the expectations placed on men in relationships.
