The Lagos State Government is set to award a total of N30 million in grants to 10 young entrepreneurs participating in the 2026 Amplifier Business Clinic.
The initiative, organised by the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development in partnership with Pelse Consulting, is designed to help young business owners turn their skills and ideas into sustainable enterprises.
The announcement was made during the 2026 Amplifier Business Clinic Pitch Day, where selected entrepreneurs presented their businesses before a panel as part of the programme’s final stages.
The Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu, said the programme was created to ensure that young people were equipped with practical knowledge, opportunities and support needed to contribute to the state’s economy.
She explained that some entrepreneurs begin with skills or hobbies but require additional business knowledge to turn those abilities into viable enterprises capable of generating income and creating jobs.
The N30 million grant represents an increase from the funding provided under the previous edition, although available reports contain differing figures about the number of previous beneficiaries. The current 2026 programme’s official platform confirms that grant funding is part of the clinic’s pitch and graduation stages.
Oke-Osanyintolu stressed that the financial grants would not be the only form of assistance available to participants. Successful beneficiaries are expected to receive mentorship to help them make effective use of the funds and strengthen their businesses.
Participants who do not receive grants will also continue to have access to support from the ministry, according to the Permanent Secretary.
Managing Partner of Pelse Consulting, Adeniji Oluwafemi Boboye, said the programme was intended to address the gap between possessing a skill or innovative idea and having the business knowledge required to turn it into a sustainable enterprise.
The official Amplifier Business Clinic platform describes the initiative as a structured programme covering business training, mentorship, pitching, funding opportunities, networking and continued business support. It also states that the 2026 edition has seven stages, beginning with application and screening and progressing through online and physical training, pitching, grant awards and post-programme mentorship.
According to the programme organisers, participants receive training in areas including business strategy, finance, marketing, leadership, operations and growth. Pelse Consulting’s current updates also show that the 2026 cohort has undergone sessions covering entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence for business growth, marketing, leadership, pricing, financial and risk management, customer relationship management and business-plan development.
The businesses represented in the programme span several sectors, including fashion, food production, leather products, cosmetics, footwear, printing, agriculture and other small-business activities.
One of the participating entrepreneurs, Kumoluyi Oyindamola Abigail of Indawares, said the programme helped her better understand financial management, business planning and customer targeting in her leather-bag business.
She said she hoped to increase her production capacity and grow her revenue after applying the lessons gained during the programme.
Another participant, Fagbemi Joshua Oluwabori of Fajosh Smart Enterprises, said the training changed his understanding of entrepreneurship. His business offers services including printing, photocopying, identification-card production, photography and computer training.
He said he intended to expand the computer-training aspect of his business to cover additional digital design and technology-related skills.
Beyond the grants, Pelse Consulting said the programme is intended to provide participants with access to financial institutions, government agencies, mentors and other business support networks.
The official programme information also provides for continued mentorship and monitoring after the grant stage, with the aim of helping selected entrepreneurs strengthen their businesses and sustain growth.
The 2026 Amplifier Business Clinic is the latest stage of a programme that began in 2023 and has progressively expanded its training, mentorship and funding components. The organisers say the broader objective is to help young entrepreneurs build stronger businesses capable of generating income, creating employment and contributing to Lagos State’s economy.
